Green Hydra

POND LIFE > Hydrozoa

Found by chance in a pond attached to a piece of driftwood. Extremely small, 10 times than normal hydra. The green colour is due to clorofillae. This hydra can survive thanks to photosyntesis in case of scarce food. After 2 days, feeded with moina a buddy is produced. After 1 week 3 of them can be seen.

First time I noticed it. Just a small green dot on a piece of bark.

Little hydra growing and buddying.
